About us
The trade association for the water industry
Our members include all of the water and wastewater companies across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We work with companies to help ensure that customers receive high quality tap water at a reasonable price and that our environment is protected and improved.
We do that by understanding and promoting best practice, representing the UK water industry in discussions with government, NGOs, regulators and in international forums and encouraging innovative policies that tackle big issues.
Our policy committees
The committees develop and implement policy within the framework set by the Board and report on an annual basis. They also take responsibility for supervising the many information sharing networks that exist between Water UK members.
The committees meet regularly and are attended by most of the larger members of Water UK. Most committees are chaired by a Water UK staff member.

How we are funded
We are funded directly by our members. We are an independent organisation representing the whole industry and not the interest of individual companies.
Our history
Water UK was established in 1998 to form a single voice for the water industry across the UK, bringing together the previous Water Services Association and Water Companies Association.
