UK Water Industry Distraction Burglary Protocol (May 2008)

The purpose of this protocol is to help protect consumers from the risk of distraction burglaries.

Water and sewerage undertakers in the United Kingdom are committed to complying with this protocol, ensuring that any contractors working on their behalf also comply.

Water companies have specific contact numbers for customers to call in order to check the identity of a doorstep caller who purports to be a water company representative.
