Water UK has published the first in a series of reports on the role of drinking water and the nation's health, to raise awareness of the benefits of tap water for health and hydration. This research paper explores the current landscape of the water sector, health and hydration science.

Water is an essential nutrient, vital for our health and hydration, with several routes for consumption: from tap water, from other drinks and from food.

The role of water in improving public health is particularly important given the rising levels of obesity, diabetes and tooth decay, as it provides a natural alternative to soft or sugary drinks.
